Sliabh Aughty Mountains





We are Beekeepers on the Sliabh Aughty Mountains; this mountain covers East Galway, North Clare and runs into the Burren.  We are a family run business.  A family tradition going back four generations.  Our hives are in various locations on the mountain, which is a mix of wild rugged mountain and good farming land.  A large proportion of the mountain is now an area of conservation.  The mix of farming land and rugged mountain give us a great range of flora from the peaty and limestone soil, all natural for the bees.  Our honey is 100% raw,Unheated and natural we single filter and Jar our Honey allowing for the pollens, medicinal and antibacterial values to be retained.

Our creams are made from  beeswax  from our own hives and other natural organic ingredients. they have great healing properties and medicinal values

Primary plants and trees in the area that produces nectar and pollen are:


Pussy willow, hazel, Sycamore, beech, chestnut, white thorn, daffodil, snowdrops, mountain ash, Heather, Gorse, Fruit trees.


Hawthorn, Dandelion, clover, blackberry, Gorse, Lime


Ivy, heather, privet, Knapweed.
